Young adult, magical realism, and every book in between infused with fairy dust...

All About Halloween Book Tag

October 11, 2017

Happy Witchy Wednesday my pretties!

So if there is one thing that you need to know about me is that I am absolutely bewitched with Halloween!

This is literally me btw…

I am all about the Halloween life and I always do a happy dance when I see the Target Halloween section, I buy almost $100 worth of Halloween candy to give to all the kids in my neighborhood (I am planning to combine book giveaways along with Halloween candy as well! I know these kids will totally figure out that I am a nerdy teacher.), and I plan my Halloween TBR list months in advance!

Since I am such a Halloween FREAK I decided to do a book tag! This is my first ever book tag! Here we go!

What are your favorite Halloween movies? Most of my favorite movies are all things witchy! The number one on my list that I watch every Halloween is Hocus Pocus! During the month of Halloween, I watch Practical Magic and Charmed. Also on Netflix, I just recently discovered  R.L. Stine’s movie The Cabinet of Souls! OMG! Watch it now! It will get you in that perfect Halloween mood and it will bring back the nostalgia of those precious Goosebumps days!

What is your favorite Halloween book? Wow! This is so hard to pin down! There are so many amazing books! Although I have to say that I am absolutely in love with the book Teen Spirit by my favorite author in the whole world Francesca Lia Block! This YA read involves auras, mood rings, and ouija boards! Need I say more?! Read my book review about it here.

What are other Halloween books you recommend? Definitely, recommend The Night Circus for the eerie setting of the circus (Amazing world building!), How to Hang a Witch for all of you people obsessed with Salem and witches like yours truly, and anything with the two words Harry Potter in it for the obvi reasons!

Do you own any Halloween ugly sweaters? Actually, I have one ugly Halloween sweater that I actually got in my own local thrift store! I immediately snagged the sweater when I saw the buttons were candy corn designs!

What are some of your favorite Halloween costumes? My favorite Halloween costumes were when I dressed up as a flapper for Halloween, Pete the Cat, and I think my most creative costume yet was when I dressed up as Ms. Frizzle last year!

What are you doing for Halloween this year? Usually a couple of days before Halloween I like to attend costume parties since Halloween is on a Tuesday this year! Boooo! The day of Hallows Eve I have a Halloween tradition which is to give out candy to all the children in my neighborhood, eat Halloween cupcakes, and watch the movie Hocus Pocus!

What is your favorite childhood Halloween memory? My favorite Halloween memory has to be in high school when my best friend and a group of our friends decided to go to these random woods to just do a seance and contact spirits on the Ouija board! Yeah… totally normal Halloween night! Needless to say, we got totally creeped out and dipped out pretty quick! I wish I could recreate this memory but my adult self would never dare to attempt this craziness again!
